The Christmas spirit is at its peak in New York now! We are less than a week away from the Christmas Day, so these days the city is even more crowded and agitated than usual. All the department stores have created their outdoor holiday windows to display enchanted winter fairy tales. It is totally worth to get in line to see closer that little magic. Well, this city has much to offer to get into the holiday mood. Honestly, it is the best time of the year!
I love December for its crisp air, the smell of the Christmas trees at the every corner and of course the Christmas markets! I love browsing between the rows with handcrafted commodities from jewelry to leather goods and Christmas tree decorations while sipping hot cider. It is also a great place to find cute little presents for friends and family. It is even a better deal for those who love ice-skating, because there is one!
This year I wanted to capture beautiful Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan to share with you. The weather was not very cold that day, so I opted for a comfortable yet edgy outfit.
My two favorite clothing items of this season are plaid blanked scarf and leather leggings. It is a statement piece by the way. Dare to wear it because it works with almost everything and looks really great. If you are brave enough, you can also try the shiny plastic pants. Leather or PVC leggings add a perfect touch of glam to a cozy knitted sweater or a plain top.
A plaid blanked scarf is a real saver from unexpected windflaw or snowfall. Tartan scarf is a winter classic that will “live” from season to season no matter what the next trends are. I would suggest investing into one made of wool fabric.
Another piece that I find very practical for the wintertime is a kimono vest in brushed wool. It is a clean-lined classic piece that can be worn easily on top of the sweater, underneath a cashmere coat or by itself. I wore it without a coat and was very comfortable.
This is how easy to pull together a nice outfit to enjoy a Christmas market. I hope my advices were helpful for you! Feel free to leave your feedback in the comment or ask question. Would you adopt this outfit?
